The Independence Day Celebration 2026 was conducted at Government Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram, on 15th August 2026 with the active participation of the NCC, NSS , Campus Connect and College Union. The NCC cadets reported at 08:30 a.m. and assembled at the college ground in proper discipline and turnout. The programme commenced at 09:00 a.m. with the flag hoisting by Dr. Umajyothi V, Principal of Government Arts College, followed by the National Anthem. This was followed by the NCC parade at 09:10 a.m., where the cadets demonstrated discipline, coordination and the training acquired through NCC activities. The programme continued with the Welcome Address and Independence Day messages by the NCC CTO and NSS Programme officer. Cultural programmes including a patriotic song by NSS volunteers and a flashmob by NCC cadets were conducted with great enthusiasm. An Essay Writing Competition and Quiz Competition were also organised as part of the celebration, with the quiz being conducted from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks. The active participation of the NCC cadets contributed to the successful and disciplined conduct of the Independence Day celebration. The event was conducted in a patriotic and dignified atmosphere, highlighting the values of discipline, unity, patriotism and national responsibility.
