The Department of Botany was set up in 2004. The Department offers a double main under graduate course along with the Department of Biotechnology, the course named as Career related FDP in Botany and Biotechnology. The Department has two faculty members with numerous years of teaching experience.  As part of curriculum, field trips are conducted for final year students every year. To familiarise with flora of different phytogeographical regions, plants are collected and preserved a herbarium. The infrastructure includes ICT enabled classrooms and a laboratory. The Department takes part in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
